The stones are from sacred furniture by the artist Marek Sobocinski.
The Catholic church in Alta is the first since the previous congregation was disbanded in 1905 due to emigration. The new church is built of solid wood and is an energy-efficient “passive house” using natural materials such as Alta slate and Masi quartzite.
