Stones from remnants, from Gamlebyen (old town) among other places

The stones come from the municipality’s remnants, and have various shapes: rectangular, circular, etc.
A drainage stone with a carved gutter, of uncertain date, has been confirmed to come from Gamlebyen in Fredrikstad. Gamlebyen is a fortified town from the 17th century surrounded by ramparts and with a star-shaped moat all around. There is still military activity there. Gamlebyen is located east of Glomma River, while today’s centre of Fredrikstad is located on the west side of the river.
