The stone comes from pedestals for light poles for the Royal Court at Balustraden and Slottstrappen.
The Royal Palace, the King’s official residence in Oslo, is located at the end of Karl Johans gate with the address Slottsplassen 1 (changed from Henrik Ibsens gate 1, formerly Drammensveien 1). The palace was built as a royal residence under Kings Karl Johan and Oscar in the years 1825–1848 with Hans Ditlev Franciscus Linstow as architect. It is a three-winged structure on three floors in the neoclassical style, built of plastered brick.
